Bibliothèque Nationale de France: social network strategy & community management

Case Study

LAUNCH OF A COLLECTION OF CULTURAL DIGITAL CONTENT

BnF Partnerships is the subsidiary of the National Library of France that is dedicated to digital innovation. They were tasked with creating digital cultural content of the BnF’s collection. BnF Partnerships employed our services to define a social network strategy for its digital collections, to drive engagement in its online communities and to launch its media site.

In order to support the commercialisation of its digital content – composed of E-books, audio collections and digital content about French cultural heritage – we conducted a consultation and implemented a brand strategy and a digital influence campaign.

BRAND PLATFORM AND SOCIAL NETWORK STRATEGY

We launched a new media site, Retro News, which gives users access to 300 years of digitalised media. Ahead of the launch, we defined the brand platform for Retro News and the community and engagement strategy for this new media outlet.

INFLUENCE CAMPAIGN AND PROGRAM AMBASSADOR

We created an online launch for the website by implementing an influence campaign, aimed at bloggers and journalists that are connected and active on social networks.

The influence campaign was conducted in several steps. It consisted of, firstly, informing the VIP influencers of the website launch and suggesting that they test the site in its beta version. The objective was to be able to identify and mobilise a community of influential ambassadors.

ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT STRATEGY

In order to support the site launch of Retro News and to develop its community of readers and users, we defined an engagement and community management strategy to implement on social media networks.

The digital agency Eureka Time drove the website launch and creation of a community by identifying public targets, implementing a content strategy, deploying an engagement program and creating a plan for community management.
